Jungle books sign
The bed of Hosam Osman Alziber, a refugee who lived in the camp known as 'The Jungle' that is home to an estimated 3000 people trying to make their way to the United Kingdom to seek asylum there and make a better life. At midnight on 22 July 2015, Hosman Osman Alziber, from Sudan, telephoned his best friend Mohammed, to tell him that he had climbed onto the roof of a Eurotunnel train heading to England. For two and a half weeks after that, his friends heard nothing from him. They kept his neatly made bed as he left it, between those of two friends, until word came that British police had confirmed that a badly damaged body found on a train in Folkestone was that of the young Sudanese engineer. Hosam died alone in the Channel Tunnel, on his way to England, aged 22, on July 23rd 2015.<br />
