The I-20 is the INS form that a school must issue to a foreign student to enable him/her to go to the nearest United States consulate to obtain the F-1 student visa. The I-20 will only be issued by the school after the student is admitted to the school and the necessary financial proof has been made to demonstrate that the student will have enough funds for tuition and living expenses for the duration of the educational program. Most U.S. schools have a Student Health Center, or an organization with a similar name, with doctors and/or nurses available for students during specific times of the day. [ TOP ]
